Rules

Do not grief or deface the world
Section titled “Do not grief or deface the world”- Griefing anyone’s work, including programs on computers, even if it is unclaimed, is not allowed.
- Leave chests, computers and other valuables as you found them, unless you know they are naturally generated.
- Unsightly builds and purging of land near spawn and other cities is not allowed.
- Staff reserves the right to remove posters anywhere for any reason.

Do not abuse server stability
Section titled “Do not abuse server stability”- Abusing bugs in server software is not allowed.
- Writing programs that cause lag with malicious intent is not allowed.
- Performing denial-of-service attacks on other services from the server is not allowed.

Do not create invalid items or corrupt world data
Section titled “Do not create invalid items or corrupt world data”- Attempting to corrupt the world or chunkban yourself or another player by creating invalid items, blocks or network packets is not allowed.
- Nesting containers is not allowed.
- Exception: Placing Diamond Shulker Boxes inside a vanilla Shulker Box is explicitly allowed to permit dense transportation of SC Goodies Shulker Boxes.
- Creating items or blocks with excessive NBT data is not allowed.

Do not exceed data storage limits
Section titled “Do not exceed data storage limits”- Do not store more than 50MB of data (e.g. with computers or floppy disks) per player, service, company or building. Exceptions can be granted at the discretion of staff.
- “Cinema” computers (e.g. video computers running Juroku or Sanjuuni) and other lag-heavy computers may be turned off by staff at any time to help with server performance.

Do not misuse computer systems
Section titled “Do not misuse computer systems”- Chaining startup commands to other computers from a computer set up as a startup computer by staff is not allowed.
- Artificially inflating computer or peripheral IDs is not allowed.

Do not abuse chunk loading
Section titled “Do not abuse chunk loading”- Using a chunkloader, intentionally loading an area with an AFK player for multiple days at a time, or using any other method to load chunks is not allowed, even if intended by vanilla game design.
- You should use staff-provided, Kromer-backed chunkloaders, or request a /forceload by staff for public services.

Do not exploit bugs or cheat
Section titled “Do not exploit bugs or cheat”- Exploiting any bug in server or client software, new or old, is not allowed.
- X-raying, wallhacking, player automation when not through the bot endpoint, and similar hacks using texture packs, mods or any other modifications is not allowed. Plethora Block Scanners are allowed.
- Using hacked clients or hack mods is not allowed.
- Automating player behavior through Baritone is not allowed, as this accesses information that a regular player cannot access without the mod.
- Using a seed structure predictor to predict structures is not allowed.
- Using a mineflayer bot requires permission by staff.
- A mineflayer bot must not access information that a regular player would not be able to get.
- Request permission for mineflayer bots by sending a private message to a member of staff.
- Any bug with potential to be exploited by other players should be silently and responsibly disclosed to a member of staff.

Do not spam or disrupt chat
Section titled “Do not spam or disrupt chat”- Spamming any type of chat with repeated words, repeated messages, pinging users, or any other unwanted behavior that could be considered disruptive is not allowed.
- Inviting players to other servers or sharing server links is not allowed, unless explicitly allowed by staff.
- Using No Chat Reports’ chat encryption feature in public chat is not allowed. Using it in private messages is allowed, provided the receiving party can decode it.

Do not harass or insult other players
Section titled “Do not harass or insult other players”- Insulting other players in any way, especially if repeated, is not allowed.
- Use of profanity is acceptable, but disruptive use of profanity is not allowed.
- Use of hate speech, racial slurs, threats, and any other language that could be considered harmful to a person or group is not allowed.
- Discussion of such language is acceptable when it is clearly not being used with intent to harm.
- Explicit content including self-harm, suicide, erotic content, gore, and shock content is not allowed.
- This applies to private messages to players who did not consent to discussing them or who no longer wish to discuss them.
- Discussing any of the above topics with players under the age of 18 is completely disallowed, even in private messages, even if they are contributing to the discussion, and even outside of the server. Any disrespect to the age of consent will result in a non-negotiable ban.
- If anything makes you uncomfortable, please contact a staff member privately.

Do not abuse claims
Section titled “Do not abuse claims”- Using claims to block other players is not allowed.
- Squatting claims with no intention of using them, including for resale, is not allowed.

Do not steal, scam, or beg
Section titled “Do not steal, scam, or beg”- Stealing items or money from a player, shop, company, or service is not allowed, even if they have trusted you or if you use an introspection module. This includes abusing alt accounts, scamming, and impersonation.
- Piracy and stealing through exploitation of bugs and other exploits in player software is allowed, provided player data is not affected maliciously.
- Begging for items, services, claims, or money from players, companies, or services is not allowed. You may ask a single player about their property once, but this should not be repeated or done in bulk.
- Stealing items or money from a player, shop, company, or service is not allowed, even if they have trusted you or if you use an introspection module. This includes abusing alt accounts, scamming, and impersonation.

Do not install software without consent
Section titled “Do not install software without consent”- Writing or installing software on computers belonging to other players or services without informed consent is not allowed.
- When advertising malicious software, it must be made very clear that it is malicious during every interaction.
- Writing or installing software on computers belonging to other players or services without informed consent is not allowed.

Exploitation of player software
Section titled “Exploitation of player software”- Exploiting ingame player software over modem or physical interaction (monitor clicks, terminal access, disk drives) is allowed.
- This may be for software piracy, proof of concept, gaining an advantage in a game, or adding “points”.
- When changing any value in a configuration or database, only your own player data should be affected.
- When in doubt about whether a reason to exploit is allowed, ask staff before exploiting.
- Player software, databases, configurations, or other files on a computer must not be removed.
- Admin computers are exempt from exploitation. If you find a bug with an admin computer, report it responsibly as per rule 7.6.
- Exploiting a computer using malicious software is allowed, provided it is non-destructive (no ransomware).
- Malicious software must have been uploaded through an exploit of player software.
- Exploits of player software must not impact real-life servers or computers, including ingame TPS.
- Spoofing or jamming public-use protocols with servers independently hosted by the community, where a source of truth is not unique or reasonably accessible, is not allowed.
- These protocols include, but are not limited to: ComputerCraft GPS, and ShopSync.
- Excessive, targeted exploitation of one player’s software for the purpose of harassment is not allowed.
- This may be for software piracy, proof of concept, gaining an advantage in a game, or adding “points”.
- Exploiting ingame player software over modem or physical interaction (monitor clicks, terminal access, disk drives) is allowed.

In-game gambling
Section titled “In-game gambling”- All in-game gambling must be fair to the players.
- Gambling must never involve money with real-world value (FIAT, Crypto, etc.), directly or indirectly.
- All odds must be clearly displayed on an ingame monitor, poster, or sign and updated before the next player arrives. The user interface where players gamble may show only applicable odds to reduce clutter, but showing all odds is recommended.
- When a gambling operator uses a coin system with an exchange rate instead of Kromer, regular items, or Krist:
- The exchange rate for coins to ingame currency may be changed, but only within reason and not frequently.
- If there is no exchange between currency used while gambling and ingame currency, this must be clearly communicated on an ingame monitor, poster, or sign and in the user interface where the player gambles.
- Any currency gained while gambling must be able to be paid out by the gambling operator to the player at all times.

Punishment evasion
Section titled “Punishment evasion”- Attempting to evade a previous punishment is not allowed.
- “Talking back” to staff or otherwise being rude or disrespectful is not allowed.
- Harassing other players or staff regarding the reasoning for a mute or ban is not allowed.
- Arguing with the terms of the mute or ban is not allowed.

Alt accounts
Section titled “Alt accounts”- It is allowed to have up to 2 accounts: one main account and one alt account.
- Alt accounts must donate 100% of their income from the server to the serverwelf kromer wallet. Failure to do so is considered theft.
Appeal Process
Section titled “Appeal Process”If you believe a mute or ban was issued in error or unfairly, you may submit an appeal:
- Timing: Appeals must be submitted within 30 days of the punishment.
- Submission: Contact a staff member via private message with:
- Your in-game username
- The date and reason for the punishment (if known)
- A clear explanation of why you believe the punishment was unfair or in error
- Review: Your appeal will be reviewed by the staff team. This may take several days.
- Decision: You will be notified of the appeal outcome. Decisions are final and not subject to further discussion in-game.
- Respectful conduct: Appeals must be respectful. Being rude or disruptive during the appeal process may result in it being rejected.
Note: Appeals are not guaranteed to be accepted. Staff reserves the right to uphold, modify, or reverse punishments at their discretion.
- The staff team interprets the rules. You cannot argue about special cases.
- Actions not explicitly stated in the rules are special cases and fall under the discretion of the staff members.
- You are not retroactively punished after being the reason for a new rule.
